3rd Gen Aspirant Spotlight: Rhea Lopez

The spotlight keeps rolling along as the aspirants in the 3rd General Election keep stepping to the stage and showing their stuff to the fans, and the most recent one to step up to the stage was Rhea Lopez. The duskily charming native of Tondo that traces her roots to Cebu started her Kumu stream a bit tentatively, with nerves showing more prominently than others, but she showed a quick mind for wit and turned it around by producing a platter of French fries she had already pre-prepared, setting off a wave of laughs and settling down the stream.

Breezing through the regular “48 Questions” set everyone has been using, she revealed that her getting through the auditions was unexpected for her, as she preferred dancing to hip-hop songs and she claimed to not have the typical idol-type singing voice. Talking about the audition process, she mentioned how fun it was and how happy meeting a load of new friends was, especially seeing her kami-oshi in Coleen during then, and related how she almost got lost on the way to the auditions by herself. She also talked about how she learned being patient from the whole process, as she usually is very impatient, and how her mother motivated her to go ahead and do the auditions, hence her wanting to do well for her. She also talked about how despite not being aware of the system within the 48G that she was willing to learn if she manages to get in.

Having finished her questions early, the last half-hour or so of her stream turned into an impromptu jam session, with her coming out of her shell and flattening people with an unexpectedly rangy voice and dropping several songs on the watchers including a raw yet soulful rendition of her favorite MNL48 song in 365 Araw ng Eroplanong Papel. Wrapping her stream up with a wry smile, she ended up collecting a little over 71k diamonds.
