Baby Blue's "Negastar" gets full-track release

Delight has pervaded through the MNL48 community as the idol group's sub-unit Baby Blue launched the full track of its second single "Negastar" earlier today, November 25.

At stroke of 12 AM Manila time, "Negastar" has dropped on leading music streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and YouTube Music. The auto-generated video of the full track became available on YouTube as well.

Composed and arranged by Lloyd Oliver Corpuz, "Negastar" takes inspiration from the fierceness of trap and hip-hop genres which is a far cry from the bubbly tone of the unit's debut single "Sweet Talking Sugar".

Furthermore, the track puts the spotlight on motivating one's self and ignoring persons who like to doubt, troll or hate, hence the title that depicts them.

Fans praised "Negastar" on social media immediately after its release, giving props to its lyrics, catchy beat and its "dance break" part on the latter part of the song.

After the upload, the official Baby Blue TikTok account has posted a short video showing the members dancing to a snippet of the track and inviting fans to support the single. Fellow Filipino girl group BINI also promoted "Negastar" through their official Twitter account.

As of 10 PM today, "Negastar" has already garnered 7,823 views on YouTube and placed 11th in the iTunes Philippines Chart.

Before the full-track launch, "Negastar" was unveiled last November 16. A 60-second teaser available for listening on the music streaming platform EGGS which has already reached more than 21,000 plays, as of press time.

Baby Blue is composed of its unit leader Jan Elaurza (Team MII), Coleen Trinidad (Team NIV), and Amy Isidto (Team L) and is jointly managed by Japanese record label Tower Records and HalloHallo Entertainment Inc. (HHE).
