Team NIV takes spotlight on second offering of “Regroup”
A powerhouse Team NIV got their turn to reunite as they got together for the second “Regroup” online show last Friday (September 18), shown via YouTube Live.
An acapella version of “Palusot Ko’y Maybe” sung by team captain Ecka Sibug and accompanied by the beatbox of Lara Mae Layar set the tone for their “Regroup” which they primarily spent on checking on each other’s situation during the quarantine period, playing games, and interacting with fans through Super Chats and Super Stickers sent on the live stream.
This online show also marked the first formal appearances of Nile Casitas and Trish Labrador as Team NIV since getting promoted as full-time members last August 4.
As the show went into its final moments, some members were unexpectedly moved into tears as they gave their heartfelt messages to each other about missing each other’s company and performing at live events.
Team L will be the last one to grace “Regroup”, which will happen on September 25 (Friday).
Campaign for Pranks Not Dead brought to a close
After a short yet eventful 12-day period, the campaign determining the participants for the next MNL48 Presents project “Pranks Not Dead” ended last September 19 (Saturday).
Out of the nine-member pool who competed in the campaign, five members got the spots for the upcoming series: Jan Elaurza (Team MII), Andi Garcia (Team MII), Coleen Trinidad (Team NIV), Dian Mercado (Team L), and Alice de Leon (Team MII).
Aside from diamonds earned through the online streaming app Kumu, this campaign introduced a new method of voting which was done through purchase of Kapamilya Tickets (KTX). Some fans cast their votes using this method since it was observed that KTX voting tickets had more amount-to-vote value than purchasing Kumu coins for virtual gifts.
