The voting period for MNL48's Third General Election will be extended until further notice according to the idol group's agency HalloHallo Entertainment Inc. (HHE).
In an official statement released through MNL48's social media accounts last night, HHE said that they will also extend the pre-ordering period for the fan polls' voting codes due to the extension.
Started last March 15, the voting period for this year's General Election was supposed to end on April 24 and its final results to be aired on ABS-CBN's noontime show "It's Showtime" the next day. However, with the whole country placed community quarantine because of the COVID-19 pandemic, HHE extended the voting period until October 31.
During the said extension however, several fan clubs voiced out their disappointment towards HHE and their handling of orders and processing of voting codes, which will be sent to the customer via e-mail after his or her specific order is paid and confirmed.
Fan clubs Selaphims and UniGabb Fam already said that they have put the purchasing of said voting codes "on hold" due to feedbacks regarding the delay.
Furthermore, the preliminary results were not released last week even if the official mechanics state that it should be released a week before the October 31 voting deadline.
As for when and where the final results will be shown, HHE said that they will be announcing it very soon. "HalloHallo Entertainment would like to state that the final date of MNL48's Third General Elections will be announced very soon", they said.
This year's General Election will not only reveal who will be the next center girl, the position previously won by Sheki Arzaga and Aly Padillo, but also who among the 43 current members and 15 aspirants will take the 36 seats for the idol group's Third Generation as revealed by the management on their "Save The Date" announcement last September 30.
